Women in History: The Trailblazers Who Shaped the Modern World

Women have been present and active members in the society and have also played their roles in the shaping the present society. These pioneers have put their best to ensure that they create a chances for other people to come up and make their contribution in the society.

Marie Curie is one such figure; she was a Polish born physicist and chemist who did pioneering work on radioactivity. She was the first female to receive a Nobel Prize and the first and only woman to receive the Nobel twice. More to the point, Curie’s work led to cancer treatment and nuclear power – two of the most significant advancements of the twentieth century.

One more woman who should be named is Rosa Parks, black civil rights activist, who one day in Montgomery, Alabama, refused to surrender her bus seat for a white person. This act of defiance started the Montgomery Bus Boycott, this was a key event in the civil rights movement which led to the desegregation of the bus transportation system.

One more famous personality is Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani woman, who advocates for the rights of women to undergo education and a Nobel Prize laureate. Despite being shot in the head by the Taliban for supporting education of girls, Malala became a voice for girls and women inspiring many people.

These women alongside other many women have emerged against odds, transformed society and inspired other women to succeed. These are real life experiences that demonstrate that despite all adversity one has to strive, struggle and make the world a better place.
